aka "An Exercise in Madness". I swear I was seeing dots every time I closed my eyes just after I finished this. Working on this picture reminded me of exactly the reason why I haven't attempted stippling in the last 10 years. Still, many *many* hours later we have the finished product. I hope you folks like it!

Blurbage: (probably won't make sense to anyone except me and the handful of folks wot have been to Daemonslayers.com, but hey :D).

Towards the end of the Daemonslayers saga, Shade comes to accept the truth of his nature. Believing his has lost everything and in order to save the world from an evil more dreadful than the chaos demons of the south, Shade realises he must fight evil with evil and finds a way to restore the dracoliche Raven to his corporeal form as the time of the final battle approaches.

:wow: amazing, I had to zoom in to see everything! The use of the dots make the background very gentle and delicate while you have these amazing, strong figures in the picture. The use dots for the detail also make it nice for the eye to look at. I love the way how the figures are moving slightly out of the frame as if they really are erupting out of the picture. Great piece of art!!!!! =D

many many *many* dots (shudders). I didn't actually time it, but it must have been in the region of 30 hours spread out over 2 weeks.

Thanks very much :) After completing Shade and Raven I contemplated using lines or scumbleing (sp?) for the background since I was running out of willpower to carry on stippling, but I'm glad I didn't (my wrist didn't thank me for it, though). I like breaking frames, it's a common feature in my pictures ;) I'm glad you think the figures are strong - my biggest worry with this was it would all turn into one giant grainy blob.

Thank you! I was really hoping that was the atmosphere folks'd get off this. I think I must've been a bit mad though to try and do a night scene using this method!
He's a dire werewolf, but he does sometimes get mistaken for an elf ;) (It's those pointy ears :D).
