Not much to say on this one. I started it in the summer, forgot about it then finished it off last night. I lost interest part way through because I hated the colours but came back with fresh eyes, drastically changed the scheme et voila, finished
I truly applaud all of those who can master this gloriously spiky style of dragon; I've tried the style a couple of time myself but I have a bit of a hard time with it since my own instincts for the anatomy never really work with it. XD
This is absolutely beautiful, you did a wonderful job. :3
Thank you! The spikey look is definitely one of my favourites, when it comes to drawing dragons, it just seems to come naturally (maybe I just think spikey?). You're pretty hot on the anatomy side of things so I'm sure you could find a happy medium for a bit of spikiness if you wanted
Thanks! Yeah, I don't think it's possible to go wrong with those colours (the sky was orange to start with, but somehow the tropical sunset look just didn't fly). I hadn't thought of tattoos, but I see what you mean there, maybe the (approximation of) symmetry to the wings give it that 'design' look?
I like this. It's good to see real dragons. I play one of those online dragon games that if only the art were better it would rock. It's addicting but looks terrible. Would have been better if you'd made the species there look like this hehe. Ah, if only I knew coding. Love the reds and blacks.
Heh, I would play this sort of thing... but then I'd get even less of my 'to do' art done than I already manage. (to that end, the most recent computer game I bought was Doom3!!). It would be awesome to know coding and be able to make a game, though.
