Circle Dragon. Red by drakhenliche Circle Dragon. Red by drakhenliche
Once again the spectre of RSI has raised its ugly head :( My wrist has really been hurting the last week or so and until I get through a huge project at work over the next few weeks, I suspect, it's not going have the chance to improve. I've cut back on the computer usage and this weekend opted for much more RSI-friendly (in my case, anyway) traditional media, specifically my much-neglected Tria markers!

Of course, because my scanner is old and cranky, it ruined the subtle variations and hues of all those reds so you'll have to take my word that the original is far superior! But I'm pretty happy with this given I've not broken those pens out for almost a year :-)

I think that we can see the varations and hues of red, nethertheless ! :) They are so...vibrant !

I enjoy the circle frame too, it's nice for making compositions ! :)

Hope you will success into you project !

Thanks! I've got another circle in the works - there's just something pleasing about using one for a frame, it sort of ties the image up nicely :)
I've got my eye on an HP Scanjet because it scans with 6 colours rather than the usual 3 as I'm hoping that might end my scanning woes...

Epic dragon :)
This is making me want to draw things in circles. Mainly because it means that I don't have to draw the whole body every time, and it still looks visually appealing. (as opposed to fading out etc) and can in fact be more striking than if otherwise depicted. Also I am lazy sometimes :D

Great minds think alike.. that's what appeals to me about them. Usually I use a frame of some sort for the same purpose, but I've not really used circles before so they're a bit new and exciting for me :D

Awesome :) Plus they'd be good for insets in a poster or something similar. They remind me of the style of some book covers, having a shape with a dragon or other creature inside.

Thanks! Heh, I had to use a bit of willpower not to go for the pure black marker.. would have been too strong against the red so I tried to make it a bit more subdued.

Thank you! I've tried many brands over the years and really think Letraset's Tria markers are the best you can get. Unfortunately that does mean they're bloody expensive... but so, so worth it :D After I first tried them I never looked back!

Kind of seems the same way with me and my Prismacolor pencils (and they're also pretty expensive...but the color quality is fantastic! )

Guess that's just the way with art supplies of the better quality... ^ ^;;

^^ I have the UK version, Karismacolour, though unfortunately I recently learned they don't make them any more :-( Luckily I don't use them much so I guess the ones I have will last.

Yeah, definitely you get what you pay for with art materials!

Marker fumes and red wine...

A more modern one is on my 'things I really ought to buy' list, but keeps getting bumped (that and lately I've not really had the time to sit down and research the right one). One day...

Thanks! Been doing so much digital stuff lately I almost forgot how much I enjoy traditional... sure, Photoshop has lots of fancy bells and whistles (and that all-important 'undo' button) but nothing quite compares to putting pen (pencil/paint/insert media here) to paper :)
