Astral Dragon by drakhenliche Astral Dragon by drakhenliche
Astral Dragon - As they age, Tymaeran dragons' bodies change, often reflecting their nature and abilities. This dragon here, after losing his left eye, had his third eye awakened and has become an astral wanderer.

I should be ashamed of myself. Lazy photoshop gradient colouring, really?

Watercolour painting in neutral tint over linework. Then I kind of lost the will to follow through with proper colour.

You say lazy photoshop gradient, but really it looks like you've put a little more effort into it than just that.
The way the Dragon's head has a lighter colour than that section of the background really makes it pop, so I was very drawn to this picture when I saw it in my feed. Pretty good showing for a picture you didn't feel like colouring properly.

I'm not 100% sure about the huge twist in his body, but I do really like how it looks regardless. I'm not much of an anatomy nut to be honest. And I'm very much in love with its tail, and still a fan of your style overall.

So don't be ashamed of yourself~ haha~
You're drawing regularly again and it's beautiful and it's lovely.
I want to put this one on my wall. (:

I'll admit I did fiddle with the settings quite a lot and the background gradation is very deliberately darker up that end.
Yeah, the twist is a little bit too contorted for my usual taste but I'd made an awful lot of changes already on the pencils stage and decided to just go with it before I wound up rubbing a hole in the paper :D
And thank you for the vote of confidence ;)

You say this is lazy coloring? I wish I could color this good, I'm just too lazy to buy PhotoShop. :/

It was, literally, a case of a couple of clicks. The shading was all me, though. You can legally download CS2 from the Adobe website now (they no longer support it so appear to be giving away the entire CS2 suite for free - bargain!).
